OVER 3,000 FANS helped England to launch their Rugby World Cup jerseys for the upcoming tournament on home soil.
Supporters were invited to post a video reveal of the new kits on social media this morning, before the Canterbury shirts were unveiled at an event in Twickenham, where the World Cup final takes place on 31 October.
Head coach Stuart Lancaster will be hoping his team are part of that fixture, after their straight-forward white jersey and an eye-catching red second strip were modelled by some of England’s players this morning.
England say their new lightweight jersey features a 3D rose, “a contoured ball-deadening grip” and a similar body-mapping technology to that involved in the kit unveiled by the All Blacks last week.
“Every player in the squad takes enormous pride in pulling on the England shirt,” said Lancaster in a RFU press release.
“As a group, we talk about the unbreakable bond of the rose between former, current and future players and for this symbol to be emphasised in 3D form is a key feature.
“We are grateful for the support of the fans and in the year of a home World Cup, the power of the nation behind us can be the difference.”
