FANS OF CONOR MCGregor will be familiar with his walkout music.
Ireland’s number one MMA fighter generally plays Sinead O’Connor’s version of Irish ballad ‘The Foggy Dew’ mixed with ‘Hypnotize’ by The Notorious BIG to make an entrance on the way to the octagon.
And it seems he is upping his game once again for UFC 189 as O’Connor has revealed that she will sing the song she originally recorded with The Chieftains in 1995 live on the night. McGregor faces Chad Mendes for the interim featherweight title after champion Jose Aldo pulled out with an injury earlier this week.
“Yay! Just got my A1 Visa to go to Las Vegas and sing Conor McGregor into his fight!!! #SoManyMenInTightShortsSoLittleTime” O’Connor wrote on Facebook today.
Here’s how it will sound. Haunting.
And the lyrics:
As down the glen one Easter morn
To a city fair rode I
There armed lines of marching men
In squadrons passed me by
No pipe did hum, nor battle drum
Did sound its loud tatoo
But the Angelus bells o’er the Liffey swells
Rang out in the foggy dew
