Shay Given – 7 points
HIS SEASON MAY have ended in heartbreak as Aston Villa were beaten emphatically in the FA Cup final, but Given can take encouragement on the whole from a campaign where he regained the number one jersey for Tim Sherwood’s side.
Seamus Coleman – 130 points
While he may not have hit the heights of the previous season, Coleman was still solid enough for Everton, as reflected by the fact that he was Ireland’s highest points scorer in Fantasy Football for the second successive season.
John O’Shea – 107 points
Had a few bad moments, but O’Shea still emerged with credit overall, as Sunderland escaped relegation once again.
Marc Wilson – 63 points
Made 26 appearances for Stoke in total, though worryingly, Wilson struggled to earn a place in the side towards the end of the campaign.
Damien Delaney – 57 points
Perhaps the most underrated Irish player in the Premier League, another good season for Delaney was reflected by the fact that he signed a contract extension with Crystal Palace recently.
Robbie Brady – 59 points
Endured disappointment with Hull, as the Tigers were relegated, though Brady impressed to the extent that he is being linked with a swift return to the Premier League – Norwich are understood to be interested in signing the 23-year-old.
James McCarthy – 79 points
It was a frustrating, injury-interrupted campaign for James McCarthy, however the Everton midfielder did show some promising form, particularly towards the end of the season.
Glenn Whelan – 56 points
For all his critics, Whelan is one of the few players in the Irish squad with vast Premier League experience. He may not be pretty to watch, but Whelan proved effective as he helped Stoke secure another mid-table finish.
Stephen Quinn – 57 points
Another who had to endure the disappointment of relegation with Hull, Quinn is still a tidy, accomplished player that Martin O’Neill may contemplate starting against Scotland. That said, having made only 16 starts for the Tigers, it was a far from vintage season for the 29-year-old midfielder.
Shane Long – 89 points
Despite Southampton’s excellent season, this campaign could be described as inconsistent at best for Long, as evidenced by the fact that he had as many league appearances from the bench as starts (16).
Jon Walters – 125 points
A fantastic campaign for Walters personally, as reflected by his excellent FF stats, whereby he managed 10 goals and seven in 27 appearances in the Premier League
Formation (4-4-2):
