Poll: who'll win the Sam Maguire?

Dublin and Kerry will meet in next month’s decider – who do you think will be celebrating at Croke Park?

THEN THERE WERE two.

Dublin booked their place in next month’s All-Ireland senior football final yesterday with a hard-fought semi-final victory over Donegal yesterday.

Pat Gilroy’s side ran out 0-8 to 0-6 winners in front of a full Croke Park to progress to their first decider since 1995.

Already there of course are the Blues’ old rivals Kerry. The final will be one for the football traditionalists with the match-up evoking the rivalry which marked the game in the 70s and 80s.

But who will win out on the third Sunday in September?

Poll Results:

Kerry (550)
Dublin (356)

As the first to vote. I think it’s clear from that performance yesterday that a total of 8 points from Dublin will be scored by Kerry in the first 15 mins on the big day. Croke Park is more of a home ground to Kerry than it is to Dublin also.

As much as I don’t want Kerry to win. I reckon that they’ll have a comfortable win. I’m going to see what the odds are of them winning by at least 6 points. Bernard Brogan is the only player in Dublin that knows where the goals are. Kerry has 5-6 players that are equal to him. Maybe Dublin will win, Kerry haven’t been on fire this year, but they are always on form in Croker and they are very used to playing in an All Ireland.

It hasn’t been that great a championship this year.

From the point of view of someone who has no interest in the sport and is essentially unbiased, Kerry should do it.

Would like Dublin to do it, but no team can get near Kerry. Especially as they have The Gooch who is the Messi of GAA. And also a sexy beast of a man!

Hard to gauge based on yesterdays joke of a game, but I think that Dublin will play better against Kerry as they will be allowed to play.
Hoping for a good game but I can’t see past Kerry for 5 points.

It’s been the worst football championship in decades. Can’t remember any classic matches (many close matches, like yesterday), but no standout games with the possible exception of Cork v Mayo. I don’t see how Dublin can win final and the hype will work against them as well. Kerry have won 9 all Irelands in the last 27 yrs compared to Dublin’s 1 and their experience will be decisive.
