Tipp against Cork, Kilkenny on course for Davy Fitz - 2017 hurling championship fixtures

Some mouth-watering ties emerged from this evening’s draws in the Munster and Leinster senior hurling championships.

ALL-IRELAND SENIOR hurling champions Tipperary will have to do it the hard way if they want to retain their Munster crown in 2017.

The Premier County have been pitched in at the quarter-final stage once more against Cork next summer, in a fixture that could be played at a redeveloped Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

The winners of that tie will face off against Waterford at the semi-final stage, with Clare and Limerick, both under new management, fixed to contest the other semi-final.

In Leinster, Brian Cody’s champions Kilkenny could be on a collision course with Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford at the last four stage.

Galway and Dublin were paired together in a mouth-watering quarter-final, with the winners of that fixture to face Offaly or a team that emerges from the round-robin section.
