Cue the “someone explain how the Kerry championship works” comments
Rathmore vs Dingle is a huge game
St Mary’s win an All Ireland club title at intermediate and aren’t playing senior this year. How the hell does that work?
It’s a different competition. St Marys play with South Kerry in this competition. I’d explain more but I couldn’t be bothered. Sure you can google it.
Explains Kerry dominance of junior and intermediate club championships I guess
If you mean that a number of club join up and that why they dominant junior and intermediate then the answer is no. Individual clubs compete in those competition just like every other county.
For 2015 only promotion from intermediate to senior was postponed as they cut the number of teams playing senior from 20 to 16. 3 teams instead of 1 was relegated from senior (ardfert, Laune Rangers, st michaels/foilmore). Shannon rangers are not playing senior either as theyre the team with the worse record. But its back to normal this year. If they win intermediate they get promoted.
Shannon Rangers did play in the Senior County Championship this year, they were beaten by St Brendans on Good Friday in Austin Stack Park
That was only a play off. I’m on about the REAL COMPETITION
Dr Crokes all da way lads
East Kerry for the win
