That’s our lot – feel free to leave your own predictions and thoughts in the comments section below …
It took me ages to get to the comments section…
Not one person picked Kerry for All Ireland Football, they obviously don’t know a lot about football!
Agreed kingdom for me
Other than Donaghy, Cooper, Walsh or O’Donoghue where will they get their scores from?
Kerry have lost a few players but with Gooch back in attack, they have every chance.
Hard to see Kilkenny winning the hurling league with the Shamrocks players out til Paddys Day if they reach the All Ireland club final but it will give Cody a chance to blood a few more young lads.
I suppose Geaney, D Walsh, Sheehan, Buckley, O’Leary are in capable of scoring next year eh? Despite getting some vital scores this year. Essentially want you said is other than some of the best forward in the country how will they get scores. Shows how much you know.
Anyone who knows anything about football knows Kerry fluked it last year. Dubs had 1 bad day against Donegal. They won’t make that mistake again this year, Jim Gavin too shrewd a man for that to happen twice.
Or limerick for the hurling
Disagree with that comment, are them 4 forwards scores not enough, along with Geaney,Buckley ,O’Leary and Moran, even Donnachadh Walsh
I think Kevin was being sarcastic.
Ridiculous that not one person picked Kerry for the Football. The have an even better chance than last year with Tommy Walsh and Cooper back. Shows how much Journal.ie knows about football. Then again most of their sports people are from Dublin.
No I think Kerry not been picked is more to do with the difficulty to win 2 in a row. Kerry have every chance
As a dub Kerry would be top of my list for Sam even though ithas been so long since any team won it back to back, with Gouch back they will be hard to beat
I think it’s between the two. Donegal probably won’t recover from the McGuinness era for a while.
Dont forget tommy walsh
so long since any team won back to back?
2007 kerry retained it.
or maybe ye dubs only started watching football in 2011
Clearly not much knowledge of camogie either if nobody gave Wexford a chance!
Clare to win the hurling All-Ireland? Not unless Davy moves on, there is clearly trouble in camp there with all the lads choosing football over hurling in Clare….
So it’s either Dublin or Mayo. Surprised nobody backed liverpool. #thisisouryear
19 wins – 57 points. Plus 28 = 85. Possibly 1-2 points shy of Chelsea. Doable but we will get a few bad decisions. (Think I am still drunk)
Mayo for the football and Clare for the hurling
The Cork City predictions in the LOI section are a but much. I say that as a City fan, can’t see it to be honest
Will Clare win the U21 hurling All Ireland yet again?????…..
Laois for the Minor. There is at least a Leinster title in the crop coming through this year.
Green Bay for Super Bowl, Chelsea for a predictable PL win, and Tipp + Kerry for the All Irelands.
Can’t see Clermont getting the monkey off their back in the Heineken – Toulon to depress the hell out of everyone else by doing the 3 in a row. And a New Zealand – Ireland RWC final, brilliant though it sounds, will be a step to far for us.
Agree with all that!
Up Homefarm FC for 2015!
Mayo very unlikely to win it. Just don’t have enough quality up front to go along with Cillian o Connor and have suspect temperament and very adverse psychology. Dublin Kerry or cork for me
I agree that there is a major in Shane Lowry. Now he has made the top 50 , he has a monkey off his back and could yet emulate Padraigh Harrington
In football:
Premier League – Chelsea
Champions League – Real Madrid
Europa League – Liverpool
Championship – Derby
Clare for the hurling championship and Monaghan for Sam!
No Limerick for the hurling, we’ll be up there. Chelsea definitely for the league, as much as I loathe to say it.
well said mrs wallis
Hope the Chelsea predictions are accurate but it’s very early days.
Only one picked Dundalk to win the league, it’s very hard to retain a league, but we are defiantly in with a shout, and in my opinion, much more so than Cork!!
For the gold cup Bobs Worth isn’t the same horse, Champagne Fever wont stay, Lord Windemere dont think so. Silviniaco Conti’s to lose. All Ireland (football):Dublin or Kerry (hurling):cork kilkenny
Wexford camogie to have great chance again
Wexford hurlers have a chance
limerick for the hurling……. place a small bet now…
Kerry and kilkenny. Gb packers provided Rodgers stays fit. New Zealand to beat Australia in the final. (One of them will knock us out in semis.) looks like cork for a double for the ladies. U 21 dublin and kk.
Masters too open. Same with the open. Think lowry will have a good year. His ability is on a par with mcilroy. Just need 4 consistent rounds. Novac for Wimbledon. And a changing of the guard in the f1.
Paddy powers might be sorry for paying out on Chelsea to win the league,I wonder would any of the journalists change their mind about Chelsea running away with the league?
pro 12?
Richie Fowler in the Masters.
