Alan Cadogan pulled a hamstring against Tipperary.

The Cork hurlers look set to be without two key players for Sunday's league quarter-final

JBM has some injury concerns.

CORK WELCOME WEXFORD to Pรกirc Uรญ Rinn this Sunday for their Allianz Hurling League quarter-final, but it looks like the Rebels will be missing some very important players.

Alan Cadogan, Mark Ellis and Daniel Kearney all sustained hamstring injuries during last Sunday afternoonโ€™s defeat to Tipperary on Leeside.

Manager Jimmy Barry-Murphy is hopeful that Kearney will have recovered in time to face the Model County, but neither Caodogan nor Ellis are likely to feature.

โ€œMark (Ellis) has pulled a hamstring and could be out for a few weeks,โ€ Barry-Murphy told reporters. โ€œItโ€™s hard to get players of that calibre, we have some good players coming through but itโ€™s taking time to get them up to speed.

โ€œAlan Cadogan pulled a hamstring, so heโ€™s out for the next couple of weeks as well. Daniel Kearney has a hamstring injury as well. Weโ€™ll just have to regroup and motivate guys again for next Sunday again.โ€

Ellis could be a particularly costly absentee for Cork. He was forced off after 51 minutes of Sundayโ€™s loss to Tipp, just before Cork opened up a 12-point lead. However, they surrendered that advantage and went on to lose by one.

Barry-Murphy added: โ€œWe had a big lead and couldnโ€™t hold out. Thatโ€™s disappointing and we had chances at the end to draw which we didnโ€™t take either. We seemed to lose our shape when Mark (Ellis) went off, he was playing very well at centre back.โ€

Speedy recovery lads. Itโ€™s was a very poor finish for Cork but Tipp never gave up, to their credit. Roll on Wexford.
