Heaslip's try-saving smash on Hogg is the sort of thing you'll remember in 50 years time

I want to be buried with today’s rugby when I die.

BLAH BLAH BLAH rugby is a game of inches cliché cliché cliché – usually that sort of talk is annoying but there were so many incidents today that could have easily meant England or Wales were the 2015 Six Nations champions and not Ireland.

In the first game, Gareth Davies went to pick up a bouncing ball with a clear run in under the posts. The scrum-half fumbled the ball and moments later Leonardo Sarto’s fun-run saw him dance his way down to the opposite corner.

A little more composure by the Scarlets man and Wales could be the champions for the third time in four years.

And of course there was THAT tackle. Stuart Hogg stepped inside what looked like the last defender and tried to ground the ball in one hand. Jamie Heaslip swooped out of the sky like a pterodactyl and somehow managed to dislodge the ball.

If somebody on Joe Schmidt’s team tried to ground the ball like that the Kiwi would probably dish out a Sharia Law style punishment by lopping off a hand.

You could pick out a load of moments in Ireland’s favour too – like three missed penalties – but it just goes to show you how riveting today’s games were.

The best ever.

It was an awesome tackle but it was an entire team effort

Just think. Heaslip could easily have taken time out to manage his back. Does anyone remember when we all criticized him back in 2013? Well, I can safely say that he’s back to being world class.

No Conor ye criticised him for having a life outside of rugby.he never dipped in form was never dropped for Provence or country due to poor performance.hes a work horse in every game.just cos he’s not making try saving tackles doesn’t mean he’s having a bad game

@Alan b, we criticized him because he failed massively to deliver as captain when required, especially against Scotland. He is a massive player, yes, but it still remains whether he has what it takes to lead the team if he is ever asked to do so.

Heaslip us not world class. He consistently gives away penalties. Honestly, he is average in a very good team.

If he’s that bad why were so many of the top French clubs interested in him when his contract was up a few months ago?

It was an absolute privilege to witness proceedings at Murrayfield. Never ever in my life I’ve shouted “allez les Bleus”, not to speak about the passion with which thousands and thousands of Irish fans shouted it. We are the Champions!

Did the ball not roll forward along the ground in the build up to Hogg’s effort?

Hey Ken knob , Jamie heslip has always done his job and the perfect example of it was his tackle on hogg, that’s an old school rule that a # 8 always covers the corner flag when an attack goes wide , England #8 Billy from tonga or where ever the Fu!k he is from would not have a hope of doing that , all belly and arse running in quick sand , all good # 8′s have pace,
