BRISTOL ACADEMY LADIES proved too good for Raheny United, as the Irish side suffered a 6-1 Champions League aggregate defeat and were knocked out in the process.
The visitors started encouragingly, with the score 0-0 going in at the break at Ashton Gate.
Down 4-0 from the first leg, Raheny suffered a setback shortly thereafter, as Spanish forward Natalia slotted home after being set up by Nikki Watts on 50 minutes.
Nine minutes later, Angharad James then made it 2-0 to confirm Bristol’s passage into the last 16, as she produced a well-taken finish to double her side’s advantage.
Pearl Slattery then headed in a free kick with just under 20 minutes remaining, but it was too little too late for Raheny.
