LEGENDARY KERRY AND Donegal players are to face off next Saturday in a charity Gaelic football match in honour of the late Gerry Collins, who appeared in a hard-hitting HSE anti-smoking campaign.
Collins was a member of the Kilmacud Crokes club and was widely praised for his courage in highlighting the dangers of smoking. He sadly passed away last March at the age of 57.
Now the Kilmacud Crokes club have organised the game for next Saturday at 5.30pm just before the final of this year’s FBD7s competition, the traditional curtain-raiser to the All-Ireland senior football final.
A host of star names are set to take part in the game including the likes of Darragh Ó Sé, Manus Boyle, Seamus Moynihan, Brian Murray and Jack O’Shea.
The game is in aid of Fundúireacht Páidi Ó Sé and a Donegal cancer charity. The ‘bucket’ will be passed for a collection for the charities supported by these teams and the Kilmacud Crokes Benevolent Fund will make a contribution.
The squads in full are:
