THE IRFU ARE re-launching their Eat2Compete campaign for the new season that provides a wide range of nutrition advice aimed primarily at aspiring rugby players, but is equally applicable to anybody looking to get fit and stay fit.
The union conducted a survey of 738 people and found that 48% of people aged between 19 and 24 skip breakfast regularly, while 21% of 14-18 year olds go without the most important meal of the day – and 71% of that number do so three times a week.
So here’s IRFU nutritionist Nora Ní Fhlannagáin explaining why it’s worth making time to fuel yourself up for the day ahead.
