LIMERICK FOOTBALLER JOHN Galvin is set to transfer to Clare club Cratloe ahead of the closing stages of the senior football championship in the county.
Galvin, Limerick’s talismanic midfielder for over a decade, has applied for a club transfer from his native Croom in Limerick to Cratloe in Clare. In recent years Galvin has been living in Cratloe but because he has only applied for a club transfer, he is still potentially available for Limerick for the 2015 season.
Cratloe take on O’Curry’s next Saturday at the quarter-final stage of the Clare senior football championship. They are the reigning champions after winning their inaugural title last year and progressed to the AIB Munster SFC club final last December before being narrowly defeated by Kerry’s Dr Crokes.
Cratloe already boasts player of the calibre of Sean and Podge Collins, Pierce Deloughrey and Martin ‘Ogie’ Murphy, who were all involved in the Clare senior football squad this year.
In addition Clare senior hurlers Conor McGrath, Conor Ryan and Cathal McInerney are also key footballers for the side. Cratloe have also advanced to the Clare senior hurling semi-finals where they will take on Clarecastle.
