IT MAY HAVE ended in controversial circumstances but Mayo and Cork served up an exciting quarter-final today with the Connacht champions eventually booking a semi-final spot with Kerry by the narrowest of margins.
For Mayo, Aidan O’Shea provided a timely goal while Cillian O’Connor (0-5) and Alan Dillon (0-4) scored at pivotal moments to help send the westerners into the final four.
Brian Hurley (1-4) top-scored for Cork with his late goal keeping his side in the game when their heads may well have dropped after O’Shea’s maximum down the other end moments earlier.
Donncha O’Connor’s 1-3 cameo cannot be overlooked and neither can the performance of James Loughrey at the back for the Rebels.
So, before The Sunday Game make their decision, we want to know who you think deserves to win man of the match for their performance in this game?
