WHILE USAIN BOLT watched on, Jamaica continued its 100m dominance last night as Kemar Bailey-Cole claimed Commonwealth Games gold in Glasgow.
Bailey-Cole, 22, won the sprint showpiece in 10.00 seconds, beating England’s Adam Gemili (10.10) and Jamaican team-mate Nickel Ashmede (10.12) into the silver and bronze positions.
World’s fastest man Bolt — who is in Glasgow but only to compete in the 4x100m relay — tweeted his congratulations to his young team-mate and training partner.
Bailey-Cole told BBC: “It means a lot because it’s my first individual medal at a championship. It’s just the start of the individual medals.
“The aim was to come out here and win and I did just that. I said to myself ‘these guys can’t beat me’.”
