URUGUAY PAID TRIBUTE to disgraced star Luis Suarez ahead of their World Cup clash with Colombia on Saturday by hanging his kit in their dressing room.
Suarez’s number nine shirt and kit were laid out in the Maracana changing rooms even though the Liverpool forward is back in Uruguay with his family.
The official Uruguay Football Association Twitter account posted a picture of Suarez’s shirt, lined up in place between those of Abel Hernandez and Diego Forlan, who wear the numbers eight and 10 respectively.
The picture was accompanied by a message: “Uruguay team’s changing room at the Maracana. Luis Suarez’s place is intact. Come on Uruguay!”

Suarez was sent home from the World Cup for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini in Uruguay’s final Group D match.
He was given a total four-month ban from football on top of a nine-game international suspension.
