David Moyes in talks to replace Roberto Mancini at Galatasaray

The former Manchester United boss has met with the Turkish club for ‘an exchange of idea’.

DAVID MOYES COULD be back in the managerial hot-seat less than three months after he was shown the door, by Manchester United, at Old Trafford.

The Scot broke away from a holiday in Miami to meet with Galatasaray president Unal Aysal. Several media outlets in England, including The Guardian and Daily Mail, are reporting that Moyes and Aysal have had ‘an exchange of ideas’ with the club reluctant to name the former United boss as their top target.

Galatasaray are waiting on the conclusion of the World Cup in the hope of speaking with international managers Joachim Löw [Germany] and Jürgen Klinsmann [USA]. Moyes, who could expect an annual salary in excess of £3m, would not be the first Scotsman to manage the Turkish side. Graeme Souness coached at the club in 1995-96.

Moyes did not last the length of a season after he arrived from Everton as ‘The Chosen One’, Alex Ferguson’s heir apparent. The club finished seventh in the league and were eliminated from the FA and Capital One cups at the third round and semi-finals respectively. A run to the Champions League quarter-final was the highlight of Moyes’ season but United’s journey was ended by Bayern Munich.

If the talks lead to an eventual appointment, Moyes would replace former Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini who left the club by mutual consent at the end of last season. Under the Italian, Galatasaray qualified for the Champions League by finishing second in the league and won the Turkish Cup.

    Seems like a decent guy who took a job that nobody could turn turn down. I’m sure he will rebuild his reputation that got him such a big job and maybe it’s best away from UK and the British media..

    Would be brave next move for moyes;
    Galatasary had a lot of players with big egos and big wages who don’t feel inclined to put in a proper shift alot of time.
    Some only seem interested in big pay day and mancini struggled to get this team playing. Lots of talent but bad attitudes.
    Moyes struggled when faced with similar in man u; but should have more spey in Turkey. Wish him well

    Harvey every club has to invests , but any money Utd spend is generated by the club not by the owner like at Chelsea and City . Do you understand now or do you need someone else to read it and explain it to you
