FELIPE MASSA SLAMMED Sergio Perez for “dangerous” driving after the two walked away unharmed from a high-speed crash in the Canadian Grand Prix.
Perez edged across to try and stop Massa overtaking him for fourth place, sending both cars hurtling into the barriers at force close to 27G.
Both drivers walked away from the incident but were later taken to hospital as a precaution.
F1 bosses ruled that Perez was in the wrong and hit him with a five-place grid penalty for the Austrian Grand Prix later this month.
Afterwards, Massa said: “I talked to him at the medical centre. I was so disappointed with him.
“I said that he needs to learn. I wanted him to put himself in my place, because I had a huge crash and honestly I thought it was going to hurt.
“It’s not the first time that he turned into somebody under braking. He did this many times. He didn’t say anything, he just turned and left. I hope he learns.
“We are doing around 300km/h there. With another car in front it could have been a very serious accident.”
The race was won by Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo, his first Grand Prix victory, with the Mercedes of Nico Rosberg in second and Ricciardo’s Red Bull team-mate Sebastian Vettel in third.
