NIALL MCKEEVER IS back in the Antrim senior football championship team after rejoining the panel last January following a four-year spell with AFL side Brisbane Lions.
McKeever lined out for Antrim in the 2009 Ulster final loss to Tyrone before then moving to forge an AFL career.
He returned to line out for his county this spring during the league and has been named in Liam ‘Baker’ Bradley’s Antrim starting fifteen to take on Fermanagh in Sunday’s Ulster quarter-final in Enniskillen.
McKeever also was part of the UUJ team that reached the Sigerson Cup final in March before losing narrowly to UCC.
The sides meet in Brewster Park in their opening provincial clash in a bid to take on Donegal at the semi-final stage.
Antrim exited the championship at the hands of Louth in the first round of the qualifiers last year after previously losing to Monaghan in the Ulster quarter-final.
There’s five survivors from the starting line-up against Louth last summer in Kevin O’Boyle, Ricky Johnston, Justin Crozier, Conor Murray and Mark Sweeney.
