IT’S BEEN CONFIRMED that Ireland will take part in two fixtures in the US this summer, which will encompass games against Portugal and Costa Rica in New Jersey and Philadelphia respectively.
Martin O’Neill’s men face the Costa Ricans, who have been drawn in the same World Cup group as Roy Hodgson’s England team, on 6 June at PPL Park (1am 7 June, Irish time).
Four days later, they will face the daunting task of playing against Cristiano Ronaldo and co at the Met Life Stadium (12.45am 11 June, Irish time).
Additional fixtures have already been confirmed for the summer in the Irish side’s schedule, including Turkey on 25 May at the Aviva Stadium, as well as Italy on 31 May at Craven Cottage.
The Irish team have won one (Latvia), drawn one (Poland) and lost one (Serbia) since O’Neill’s tenure as manager began.
