In pictures: Fans unite to mark 25th Hillsborough anniversary and continue the fight for justice

Memorials were held at Anfield, Goodison Park, Hillsborough and in Nottingham this afternoon.

FOOTBALL FANS ACROSS Britain came together this afternoon to mark the 25th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.

Families of the 96 Liverpool supporters who lost their lives that day gathered at Anfield for the annual memorial service while across town, Merseyside neighbours Everton paid moving tributes of their own at Goodison Park.

The anniversary was also remembered at Hillsborough, home of Sheffield Wednesday, and by fans of Nottingham Forest, Liverpool’s opponents in that fateful 1989 FA Cup semi-final.
