IT IS EXACTLY five years to the day since Ireland ended a 61-year wait for Grand Slam glory. Ireland’s Golden Generation clinched a Triple Crown, Six Nations title and Grand Slam with one accurate swipe of Ronan O’Gara’s boot.
There was still the late drama of a Stephen Jones penalty after Paddy Wallace had dipped his beak in a Welsh ruck. Jones’ effort fell short, Paulie screamed for joy and Brian O’Driscoll went to give Irish rugby legend Jack Kyle a hug and a handshake.
When will we ever see such days again…
