“MARCH MADNESS” STARTED this afternoon — and after one game, we’ve already had our first shock.
11th seed Dayton beat sixth seed Ohio State 60-59 in a game that went right to the wire.
Vee Sanford’s shot edged Dayton into a one-point lead with five seconds remaining.
It left enough time for Aaron Craft to be the hero but his shot in the final second came back off the glass.
Bad news for Ohio State and also for nearly nine million people who picked them to win in their ESPN bracket. Their hopes of a perfect bracket — and of winning $1 billion of Warren Buffet’s money — will have to wait until next year.
Here’s that final play.
