STILLORGAN’S COLÁISTE EOIN had nine points to spare over St. Peter’s of Wexford as they booked their place in the Leinster SAFC Colleges semi-final today.
The two sides were evenly matched in the first half but a raft of points after the break gave the Dublin side the advantage before two goals in the final ten minutes sealed the victory.
They’ll be joined in the final four by Good Counsel New Ross after a one point win for the Wexford school despite the best efforts of Knockbeg goalkeeper Danny Bolger who made a series of first half saves to keep the Carlow side in touch.
In the day’s other quarter final, Marist Athlone scored six goals as they ran out comfortable winners over Wicklow Schools.
The three will join St. Patrick’s in the semi-finals after the defending champions scored 2-2-2 in the final eight minutes yesterday evening to beat Rochfortbridge’s St. Joseph’s on Friday night.
