MUNSTER AND IRELAND star Paul O’Connell is among those who pays tribute to the late Donal Walsh in a new documentary.
The programme looks at the life of the anti-suicide campaigner, who passed away aged 16 earlier this year, after a four-year battle with cancer.
In addition to O’Connell, Leinster’s Shane Jennings and Kerry footballer Paul Galvin feature in ‘Donal Walsh — My Story,’ which also includes interviews with Walsh’s family and friends.
The RTÉ Two documentary, two clips of which can be seen below, will air on New Year’s Day at 9.30pm.

Class acts the two of them!
Class act Donal Walsh!
Donal’s legacy has already been huge .
So looking foreword to seeing the TV programme .
Amazing that a year is gone by already – but what a profound young life – he has saved by his words alone so many young lives since then , due to the fabulous influence of his words !
It’s only been 7 months not a year. I wholeheartedly agree with you though.
An incredible young man.
May The Lord look after his family this Christmas.it will be a lonely on
Even though donals death was very sad I think his life story has been and is an inspirational one . For too long this county has shied away from the topic of suicide and I for one can’t think of a better time for rte to show this programme as people look ahead to a new year ! If its inspiration people are looking for then this is the programme to see !!!
Theres a terrible sadness about this heartwrenching story and RTE will lift the nations hearts with it on new years day no less..
Great start to the year- could it not have waited until later on in January? And thats not taking anything away from this brave young man
