MUNSTER AND IRELAND have been dealt a blow today with the news that second row Donnacha Ryan will be forced to sit out the next 10 weeks with strained knee ligaments.
The lock suffered the injury in Saturday’s Heineken Cup pool win over Gloucester and after seeing a specialist early this week, has been ruled out until the closing days of 2013.
There was also further bad news in the southern province’s back three. Hot on the heels of Simon Zebo’s injury, Denis Hurley is expected to be out until December with medial ligament damage.
As the Pro12 resumes this Friday, Munster will head on the difficult trip to face Glasgow Warriors as injuries and the IRFU’s player management scheme begins to take hold of some of Rob Penney’s important players.
