WE CAN’T REMEMBER the last time we’ve seen something as mad as this.
Bayer Leverkusen are away to Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga tonight and, having taken the lead through Sidney Sam on 26 minutes, won a corner midway through the second half.
German international Stefan Kiessling gets to the front post and makes decent contact with a header. It’s not quite accurate enough though and goes just outside the post.
All pretty normal so far…
Upon hitting the sidenetting, however, the ball somehow makes its way through a small hole and ends up in the back of the net. The oblivious referee awards the goal and Kiessling celebrates rather sheepishly.
Hoffenheim then missed a penalty before pulling one back with two minutes to play but that ghost goal has turned out to be the winner.
Crazy stuff.
