Clare fans get chance to see All-Ireland Final on big screen... in Ennis

The town council is inviting Banner supporters along to cheer on their team against Cork.

ENNIS TOWN COUNCIL has confirmed it will publicly screen live coverage of Sundayโ€™s All Ireland-Final between Clare and Cork.

The screen will be erected at Abbey Street car park and entertainment will be provided, from 2:30pm until 6pm, for Banner fans who head along to cheer on their countyโ€™s hurlers. The game throws in at 3:30pm.

Ennis town manager Ger Dollard said, โ€œIt has been 11 years since Clare last contested an All Ireland Final and 16 years since the County last won the Liam McCarthy Cup. As a result there has been huge build-up of excitement in recent days and weeks and as a result, we are delighted to play our part in adding to what will be a wonderful occasion for Clare people next Sunday.โ€

โ€œThe issue of accessibility to All-Ireland Final tickets has proven to be difficult for many thousands of Clare people,โ€ Dollard added. โ€œThe entertainment that is being provided in Ennis this Sunday will enable people to celebrate [finals] day with fellow Clare supporters.โ€

Dollard thanked the local business community and its media partner for the day, Clare FM.

Vehicular access to Abbey Street car park will be restricted from early Sunday morning. However, people travelling to Ennis town centre to watch the game on the screen can avail of free parking at various other locations throughout the town. For more on the event, check the town council website.

Well deserved win by Norway.. that Graham up front was superb, what a fantastic player. Still feel Australia should have had a penalty first half.. if VAR canโ€™t overturn a decision because they are unsure then I believe the on field decision by the referee should stand! VAR has been surrounded by controversy at this World Cup!

@Mark Oโ€™Connell: I think there was enough doubt cast by the footage to not give it, combine that with going against the bigger side, etc, im not surprised the ref chickened out. Good game overall, but every penalty expect the last one was pretty poor.

Australia never gave up, what heart. I thought the ref was a bit weak.
