CORK OR CLARE? That is the burning question on everybody’s lips at the moment.
Just who will have the best song ahead of this year’s All-Ireland hurling final?
Clare, a county steeped in musical tradition, have burst out of the blocks with what has been described as a “supergroup of musicians and songwriters from Killaloe”, who have got together to record ‘The Banner’s Back Again’.
If the tune sounds familiar that’s because it is — it’s based on the Depeche Mode classic “Just Can’t Get Enough”, a tune appropriated by former Donegal star Kevin Cassidy in recent years, as well as fans of soccer clubs up and down Britian.
The superbly-named lead singer, MC Banner, and his six-piece backing band “The Killaloolas” , will be performing the song, which is released tomorrow, in all parts of Clare over the coming weeks.
Can the Rebels better this or will “The Banner’s Back Again” be the soundtrack to this year’s historic All-Ireland hurling Final?
What do you think?
