Dublin and Cork meet for GAA’s first official pre-match handshake

The GAA introduced the “respect” handshake ahead of today’s All-Ireland semi-final.

DUBLIN AND CORK lined up for a historic pre-match handshake ahead of today’s All-Ireland semi-final in Croke Park.

The “respect” gesture has long been familiar in soccer and although it is traditional for GAA players to shake their marker’s hand before throw-in, today marked the first time it has been officially introduced by the Association.

What do you think of the pre-match handshake? Love it or hate it?
