10 days to Euro 2012: Shane MacGowan’s Rockier Road to Poland

The Pogues front man has given his support to the Boys in Green the only way he knows how.

DAMIEN DEMPSEY, BRESSIE, Danny O’Reilly and the listener’s of the Ray D’Arcy show may have used this song to come up with the official Irish anthem for Euro 2012 but when Shane MacGowan is involved, there’s always room for one more.

The lovable rogue has teamed up with Mullingar band The Aftermath and comedian Joe Rooney for ‘The Rockier Road to Poland’.

“It’s a comedy song,” Johnny Cronin of The Aftermath told The Irish Post. “It’s a drinking and friendship song with a football theme.”

It’s not half bad and all proceeds are going to the Simon Community so you could do worse things with 99 cent.
