ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC IS expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury, according to reports.

His knee buckled following an aerial challenge during Manchester United’s Europa League quarter-final second leg win over Anderlecht last night.

After receiving treatment from United’s medical staff, Ibrahimovic was able to limp down the tunnel, with Anthony Martial coming on in his place.

United boss Jose Mourinho described the prognosis as “fairly negative” in the immediate aftermath of the game, after losing both Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo to injury during the tie.

Sky Sports have since reported that Ibrahimovic could be spending the rest of the season on the sidelines with the injury.

Ibrahimovic, whose contract with United runs out at the end of this season, has yet to sign a new deal.

He confirmed that negotiations regarding a contract extension have begun, but did not provide any assurances about his future.

Sky Sports suggests that this could mean the Swede may have played his last game with the Premier League side.
