ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC TOOK less than two minutes to open the scoring for Man United against West Ham in the League Cup tonight, but he received a nasty-looking knock to the knee for his troubles.

The Swedish striker had to receive treatment, after a poor challenge from Spanish goalkeeper Adrian left the star writhing in agony, just after he had slotted the ball home.

Adrian was promptly condemned for the act, for which he did not receive further punishment. However, many observers questioned whether he should still be on the field following this poor attempt at a tackle, while Sky Sports pundit Phil Neville branded it a “disgusting challenge”.

He wasn’t the only one unimpressed, with the 29-year-old goalkeeper provoking the ire of many on social media.
