Hoolahan on fire with a brace and his 50th club goal as Norwich obliterate Reading

The Canaries won 7-1 on his return from injury.

WES HOOLAHAN RETURNED to the Norwich City lineout today with a bang.

In the first half of their rout over Reading, the Dubliner hit two goals — his 49th and 50th goals for the club — and assisted another.

Hoolahan’s first goal made it 2-0 on the quarter-hour mark, as he found the back of the net with a chip from inside the box.

He then heavily contributed to play leading up to another goal, before bagging his 50th for the Canaries.

The 35-year-old made easy work of a run through the Reading defence and escaped unscathed, before just about getting the ball over the line to make it 6-1 before half-time.

He was unlucky not to make it a hat-trick, but his 83rd minute effort went over the bar while he was substituted just before full-time.

The match finished 7-1. Not a bad day for Hoolahan, or Norwich.
