Wayne Rooney has managed to shock everyone with latest claim

In fairness, we always had him pegged as a thoughtful romantic type.

WAYNE ROONEY CAN surprise us sometimes.

Back in 2009, he claimed that he may have entered the priesthood if he hadn’t made the grade on the football pitch.

Now, in a taster for his upcoming BBC documentary ‘The Man Behind The Goals’, he’s revealed that he used to write poetry as a child.

“I used to love writing poems. Before I was with Colleen, just normal poems,” he said.

“I don’t know why, I used to like writing little stories when I first got with Colleen. I used to write a lot of poems.”

His wife then says Rooney still leaves poems for his sons Kai and Klay to read.
