WAYNE ROONEY HAS claimed Ireland’s Jon Walters is one of only two players he has ever faced who tries to wind up opponents on the pitch.
Speaking ahead of England’s crunch Euro 2016 clash with Wales this afternoon, Rooney says the Stoke forward and former Welsh international Craig Bellamy are known to try and intimidate players.

With the build-up to today’s Group B game in Lens revolving around the war of words, and mud-slinging, between the two camps, the England captain downplayed the hostility which exists.
But he admitted had Bellamy still been within the Welsh squad, it would have been a different story.
“In all the games I’ve played over the years in the Premier League, there’s not been much, probably Craig Bellamy the only one,” Rooney said in an interview with various English newspapers.
“Jon Walters a bit. They are the only two who try to speak to players and try to intimidate players. I can’t recall anyone else doing it.
“I’ve played against Ashley Williams many times, and many of the Welsh players many times, and never had it in the Premier League, so I doubt it will happen.”
