A Waterford man nutmegged David Villa this week and enjoyed letting him know about it

Jim Goodwin opened up his bag of tricks.

DAVID VILLA HAS probably dished out plenty of nutmegs in his time, but the World Cup winner was on the wrong end of one earlier this week.

It was an Irishman who did the damage too. Waterford native Jim Goodwin is plying his trade in Scotland with St Mirren these days, and they played Villa’s current club New York City in a friendly in Manchester on Tuesday.

Villa scored for New York in a 2-0 win, but Goodwin will feel he had the last laugh after putting the ball through the legs of the former Barcelona striker.

Judging by Goodwin’s reaction, he’s seldom enjoyed a moment in his career as much as that one.
