THE YOUNGER BROTHER of James McClean is one of four players snapped up by Waterford FC ahead of their 2017 Airtricity League First Division campaign.
Patrick McClean’s switch from Derry City has been confirmed with the 20 year-old defender having made 13 appearances for the Brandywell based club last season.

Former Wexford Youths and Cork City player Matthew Connor has also joined along with Gary Delaney, 2015 First Division title winner with Wexford Youths, and midfielder Anthony McAlavey.

The acquisition of the players comes on the back of the announcement earlier this week that Pat Fenlon had been appointed as Waterford FC’s Director of Football with Alan Reynolds taking over as Head Coach.

Last November, English-based businessman Lee Power stepped in to secure the future of the League of Ireland club.
Power is the chairman of English League One side Swindon Town.
