“Does that make us world champions?”

JONATHAN WALTERS WAS one of the Republic of Ireland’s heroes last night at the Aviva Stadium.

Walters, as always, worked his socks off as Martin O’Neill’s side shocked world champions Germany with a 1-0 win in the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

How did the Stoke City striker celebrate? By heading to Twitter just over an hour after full-time to gloat to his former Stoke team-mate — 19-times capped German international Robert Huth:

“You know it’s coming @robert_huth. Does that make us world champions?”

Walters and Huth were colleagues at Stoke for five years until the German departed for Leicester City earlier this year.
