How about this for drama? 'March Madness' gets buzzer-beating finale worthy of the name

The Villanova Wildcats are the NCAA Champions after a final that won’t be forgotten for a long, long time.

THERE IS ONLY one word for the finale of last night’s NCAA Basketball Championship game: madness.

Villanova and North Carolina played out an absolute humdinger in front of 74,000 fans in the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

But no matter how good the final was, it was only the scene-setter for what has been described as the greatest ending in tournament history.

After Marcus Paige landed a three-pointer to draw North Carolina level at 74-74 with just 4.7 seconds left — and seemingly force the game to overtime — Villanova got the ball and one shot to win it all for just the second time in their history.

Look at the clock — Jenkins gets his hands on the ball with 1.2 seconds remaining:


0.6 seconds later — not long enough to yell SHOOOOOOOOT!, but long enough to win a Championship game — the ball is up and on its way:
