'That's the worst tackle I've seen since Roy Keane tried to castrate me' - Southgate

Ever the professional, the Cork native laughed off the joke.

REFLECTING ON SERGIO Aguero’s unsavoury stamp on David Luiz during today’s FA Cup semi-final between City and Chelsea, Gareth Southgate recalled a similar incident from his past.

When the two were competing against one another for Manchester United and Crystal Palace respectively, Keane was red-carded for a violent stamp on the man he now regularly appears alongside as a pundit.

When the ex-England defender laughingly brought up the incident today, pointing out its similarities to Aguero’s indiscretion, Keane saw the humorous side of the situation and apologised half-heartedly to Southgate.
