BUNDEE AKI IS leading Connacht’s Guinness Pro12 charge with an outstanding season in midfield.

The New Zealand native of Samoan descent won a Super Rugby title with the Chiefs in 2013, before joining Pat Lam’s revolution in the west of Ireland in 2014.

Aki had a strong first season with Connacht but has moved onto another level of performance in the current campaign. The 26-year-old has started all but one of Connacht’s 26 games this season, completing the full 80 minutes in 22 of his 25 appearances.

This video analysis examines some of the reasons Aki is so important to Connacht.
