Ukrainian player banned for using his phone in the middle of a match

You wouldn’t see this type of messing down the park on a Sunday morning.

OUR OBSESSION WITH smart phones knows no bounds — or at least that’s what this clip of a Ukrainian footballer suggests.

As reported by The Guardian, Premier League club Olimpik Donetsk were playing third division side Energiya Nova Kakhova in a friendly tournament when defender Volodymyr Kozlenko was filmed checking his phone — while the game was being played.

You won’t be too shocked to learn Kozlenko was suspended for the rest of the competition while the referee and his assistants were also disciplined for not taking any action.

We reckon the authorities need to slap an additional ban for the hat, tracksuit bottoms and lack of shinpads.
