SALT LAKE CITY played host to Fight Night 92 and it was Yair Rodriguez who claimed victory after a five-round split decision over Alex Caceres.
It was the pair’s first UFC main event though they managed to put on quite a show.
The 23-year-old Rodriguez enjoyed some dominance early on – he landed some spinning kicks before briefly locking up his Miami opponent.

But Caceres rallied in the third and put his solid boxing abilities to good use, catching Rodriguez with some decent punches. By the end of the round, Caceres had brought Rodriguez down and finished with some elbows.
The Mexican – who previously claimed the Ultimate Fighter Latin America title, wasn’t done, though.
He recovered and composed himself before using his kicks and spins to take control of the fourth and fifth.
Rodriguez has still not lost a UFC bout and is rated as a top prospect.
Elsewhere, Dennis Bermudez took the co-main event with a unanimous decision over Rony Jason and then issued a rallying cry to Frankie Edgar for UFC 205.
