'I guarantee we're going to Ireland this year,' says UFC's European boss

Announcement on Dublin return is expected on 1 July.

THE UFC’S EUROPEAN chief has copperfastened the pledge to return to Ireland in 2015 amid growing expectation of a October show in Dublin.

“I guarantee we’re going to Ireland this year,” Dave Allen told MMAJunkie.

“I want to go back home, have a pint of Guinness maybe, so yes we’re definitely going.

“In the next 10 to 11 days we will release details of when our tickets are going on sale.”

Allen’s promise comes just days after the UFC’s UK Twitter account dropped a very transparent hint about an announcement which is imminent on 1 July.

“You’ve waited 332 days. 15 more to go,” the tweet read, accompanied with a picture of last year’s sold-out show at the 3Arena.

The event — the third Irish card in UFC history — is expected to happen at the 3Arena on Saturday 24 October, as first reported by The42 in March.
