Dnipro best Rafa's Napoli to meet Sevilla in Europa League final

The Ukrainian side have reached their first ever European final.

SEVILLA WILL FACE FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk of Ukraine in the Uefa Europa League final on May 27 as they look to win back-to-back titles for the second time in their history.

With a 3-0 lead from the first leg, the Spanish side overcame Fiorentina 5-0 on aggregate thanks to first half goals from Carlos Bacca and Daniel Carrico at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this evening.

The second semi-final was a much closer affair as Yevhen Seleznyov scored the only goal of the game at the Dnipro-Arena to beat Napoli 2-1 on aggregate.

Seleznyov was the hero of the first leg as a substitute last week, netting an 80th-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw at the Stadio San Paolo. Rewarded for that goal by getting the start this evening.

Rafael Benitez’s side had dominated proceedings in the first half but found Dnipro goalkeeper Denys Boyko in fine form.

However, the Serie A club were made to pay for not taking advantage of their superiority when Seleznyov broke the deadlock with a 58th-minute header.

Napoli upped the pressure in a bid to force extra-time but the Ukrainian side stood firm to set up a final with holders Sevilla in Warsaw on 27 May.
