UCF were so traumatised by Irish weather that they're building a beach in their stadium

Playing in Croke Park was an eye-opener for the Floridians.

UCF PLAYED PENN STATE in the Croke Park Classic a few months back and it has obviously had a lasting impact on the Floridian school.

We know Irish weather can be a shock to the system for the uninitiated but UCF might be going a little far the other way. They want to build a special premium beach deck in their stadium to cater for fans.

“The Florida themed ESC will feature an open-air sundeck, connecting to a covered lounge area,” UCF said on their website.

This 10,000-square-foot area will have extended hours both pre- and post-game. The ESC will be the social space to meet up with friends and clients alike on game day.  Members will also have the opportunity to host private events at the ESC, which will be one of the most unique settings on campus, in Orlando and in all of college sports.

This might be the most ridiculous stadium feature in sports history but if you’re a student there, it might be the perfect place to watch a game.

And that sound you hear is of loads of Leaving Cert students frantically typing emails to apply for scholarships at UCF.

Just make sure to bring some sun cream, kids!

How many of these noughties Irish rugby internationals can you remember?
