Liverpool are coming to Dublin this summer and tickets are already selling fast

The Reds have added another fixture to their tour of Ireland.

TICKETS FOR NEXT month’s friendly between UCD and a Liverpool XI in Belfield are already selling fast, less than 24 hours after going on sale.

The SSE Airtricity League First Division side will host the Reds on 19 July as part of their tour of Ireland which also includes fixtures against Cork City and Waterford United.

The game is already on course for a sell-out with a capacity crowd of 3,000 fans expected to pack into the Belfield Bowl for the 3pm kick-off.

There’s no indication as to how strong a squad Liverpool will bring but given the first team will be in the early stages of their pre-season tour of Australia, it’s likely we’ll see some of the club’s academy starlets.

Nonetheless, UCD say interest levels are spiralling as the club hopes the showcase fixture will help boost their profile among Irish footballing circles.

As well as the game itself, there will be a host of other forms of entertainment on campus with UCD running a 5-a-side tournament before kick-off.

Last year, Liverpool faced Shamrock Rovers at the Aviva Stadium in a game which saw 50,000 fans descend on the national stadium for a glimpse of Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Fans wishing to purchase tickets can do so on the club’s website or by visiting the Belfield ticket office. Further details can be found here.
