F91 Dudelange 2-1 UCD (aggregate 2-2, UCD through on away goals)

UCD HAVE SECURED a historic result after triumphing in Luxembourg tonight.

The Students lost 2-1 on the night against F91 Dudelange, but ultimately progressed on away goals, after winning the home leg 1-0 in Belfield last week.

Ryan Swan, who got the only goal in the first leg, was on target after 17 minutes, to put the visitors in pole position for qualification.

However, UCD suffered a setback, when Sean Coyne was sent off with less than half an hour played.

Two goals in the final five minutes of the first half from Joel Pedro and Kevin Nakache then put the League of Ireland side under further pressure.

Nevertheless, a resilient second-half display saw 10-man UCD hang on for a famous result.

UCD: Corbet, Coyne, Langtry, Leahy (Harney), Boyle, O’Neill, Benson (c), Watts (Kouogun), Mulhall, Swan (Belhout), Doyle.

Dudelange: Joubert, Moreira (Ibrahimovic), Ney, Schnell, Prempeh, Pedro, Stelvio, Nakache, Da Mota (Lauriente), Benzouien (Adler), Turpel
