Then the lights went out but the 32 minute stoppage didn’t stop their flow as McKenna added another point to increase his side’s lead before Paul Finley added a free.
Dessie Mone gave Malachy O’Rourke’s men a four-point buffer before Tyrone kicked their first score of the second half.
However Stephen Gollogly goaled immediately for Monaghan to kill the game off and give them their first league win of 2015.
